Middle school is hard for everyone, especially girls. It’s a whole new world: the hormones, the stress, the friendships and relationships, everything is changing. Everyone is trying to figure themselves out, find their group, and feel comfortable in their own skin. With that comes tough times that can be difficult to get through if you feel alone. That is why we created The HOPE Program. Our program was first established in 2018 when we all realized that these feelings are normal and happen to everyone and that we weren’t alone. Since that moment, it’s been our goal to make sure young girls know they are not alone, help them feel comfortable with who they are no matter what someone says, boost confidence in themselves and to give them the strength to have a voice and use it. Through our program the girls will go through a self defense program, walk in a fashion show, participate in community service, experience a retreat, and most importantly build lasting friendships with each other.
My name is Skylar and I’m a junior in high school. This program gave me the wonderful opportunity to follow my passion for elephants through a service project, give back to my community and become confident in who I am.
My name is Bella and I’m a senior in high school. The HOPE Program has not only helped me become more confident in who I am, but also has given me a purpose in using my own experiences to help girls during such an awkward and challenging time.
My name is Mackenzie and I am a junior in high school. For me, this program has taught me leadership, empowerment, confidence, responsibility, and most of all self value.
